I recently purchased the Dewalt DCS388T1R 60V MAX Reciprocating Saw (refurbished). It came looking like new. I charged the battery and started using it on a weekend project; replacing rotted-out and weathered boards in a fence. The saw is heavy with the 60V battery and difficult to handle with one hand. But, although I didn't make a lot of cuts, the battery lasted all day without a charge. There are two things I really liked about this saw. The tool-less blade changing is fantastic! With the flip of a lever, you can pop one blade out and the next in. This came in very handy when I had to switch between cutting boards and the screws that held old boards in place. It encouraged me to use the proper blade for the material I was cutting. The mechanism seems a bit delicate though, and I'm hoping that with the proper care it does not break or wear out to soon. The second thing I liked was the portability and easy maneuverability. I've been using a corded Porter Cable variable speed Tiger saw with an oscillating stroke for wood or simple reciprocating cut for metal for the past 25 years. Nothing can beat this powerful saw. But working in and out of the bushes on this particular job would have been totally irritating dragging a cord behind me. The DeWalt was a pleasure. I wrapped up the day by cutting up the 5/4 x 6" discarded boards to toss them... and the DeWalt handled them easily. The one issue I found was that the variable speed - controlled by the trigger - was touchy. It was difficult to find some of the intermediate to slower speeds.

Heavy, but it works in your favor. Feels smoother than the 20V version and has become my go to
saw for all demo work.

BEST ANSWER: Mine looked like it was new. No scuff marks on the saw or the battery. The battery has a 3 year warranty.
