12v &amp 18v, Whats not to like?
Just wish Milwaukee made a universal charger so we could buy cheaper in OZ as the US version is almost 1/3 the going price here. It would make for more customers and easier manufacturing if they did!

I like this charger for the fact that it reduces the clutter on my work bench it works just like it was described I do wish that it could charge both batteries at the same time but I cannot complain because it does say it only charges one at a time

I just purchased a Milwaukee impact driver/drill set with the 48-59-1812 charging station. The first battery pack I plugged in shows a back and forth green / red flashing light... I kept the battery charging for 2 hours (it is properly seated), but there is no change to the charging status (2 bars) and the light is still alternating between red/green. I removed the battery and seated the second battery, which after only a few minutes, showed me a constant green light and 4 bars (fully charged)...

Is it normal for the light on the charging station to blink alternately to red/green while charging (the operators manual is not clear)? How long should I expect to charge the M18 Red Lithium battery out of the box?
JS on Jul 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The back and forth green to red is telling you the battery you installed
in the charger has reached a critical heat mode (battery is to hot),
pull the battery and let the battery cool down...then start over
again...

I have a Milwaukie V18 lithium -ion batteries and need a charger is this it, 3 terminals in the battery 2 are together and 1 is by itselfs
steven on Aug 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: yes for the 18v you need the dual charger that charges both 12v and 18v
batteries.
the 12v come as usually the small round cylindrical with the larger 12v
also having a box end.
The 18v's are square cubes and larger but the charger has a space visible
in the picture.

I was wondering if this charger would work for a 28V battery as well the model number for the 28V that I have is 48-11-2830. Will I have to order a charger just for that battery and then one for my other products that are M18 series.
Keads on May 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This charger is designed to be used on all Milwaukee all M18 and M12 battery packs only. You will need to have a charger for the 28V batteries. Here is a link to that charger:

I am looking at buying the Milwaukee 2890-20 M18 18V Heavy Duty radio and wanted to make sure I am buying the correct charger for the radio. Is the Milwaukee M12/M18 12V/18V Multi-voltage Lithium-ion charger the one I need.
We will just use it for camping and I wanted the best/cheapest charger I could get. Is that I would need is the radio and charger, Do I have to buy the batteries also?
Chris on Jun 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes the 48-59-1812 would be the correct charger. Also, yes the batteries would need to be purchased as well so you could look at something like model 48-59-1850
I also need the answer to the multi-voltage question. I don't see an answer to the previous 2013 question. I want to purchase this for use in North Africa and while the specifications for the charger state "multi-voltage" does that mean it accepts multi- voltage batteries or is the charger itself capable of operating on multi-voltages (e.g., 110-240V)?
moe on Feb 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This charger accepts all M18 and M12 Battery Packs. The charger is to be used with 120V only/
