Comments about 5 in. 13 Amp Slide Switch Small Angle Grinder with Lock-On and Dial Speed:

I mainly work on granite and stone and need various speeds. The tool is heavy enough for demanding jobs but light enough for long periods. A smooth running angle grinder.

Comments about 5 in. 13 Amp Slide Switch Small Angle Grinder with Lock-On and Dial Speed:

I already have the cheapest of Milwaukee grinders, which has worked well for me, but I wanted something with more power and with variable speed settings. Among other uses, I use a grinder with different wire wheels to remove finishing from items I'm re-finishing, particularly when the surface isn't flat. The one I have is 7 Amp whereas this one is 13, so it is much more powerful and correspondingly heavier, but I think for it's application a little heft in a grinder can be helpful. It's definitely not uncomfortably heavier, just note that if you're upgrading from a lower powered grinder, the weight difference is probably the first thing you'll notice. It cam with the side handle, guard, manual and spanner wrench, so, and looks brand new, so, other than the box itself, I don't think there's any visual difference between this and a brand new one.

Comments about 5 in. 13 Amp Slide Switch Small Angle Grinder with Lock-On and Dial Speed:

I use grinders constantly in my field and I love this one! It is typical Milwaukee "plumber proof" quality I've grown to know over the years. Never had variable speed on an angle grinder. Now I don't think I could live without it. It is nearly as strong as 7" grinders, but with the weight and size of 4 1/2" ones. Got it refurbished and saved a ton. CPO provided perfect service. I have no regrets on this one!!!

Comments about 5 in. 13 Amp Slide Switch Small Angle Grinder with Lock-On and Dial Speed:

This is an awesome grinder, I could almost put all my 220Lbs into a grind and it doesn't even skip a beat. The variable speed is a great feature and well worth the extra money espically with the "Constant Power technology" you don't need speed to get the job done it'll maintain the rpm needed at any setting so you dont burn or melt your material. I gave it 4 of 5 stars only because it doesn't have a handle mount on the back which i think is very important for cutting. CPO was super fast with the shipping and it was the lowest price i could find out there. i would highly recommend both the grinder and CPOmilwaukee.

The only thing I can find that needs adjusted is the on off switch ,some times you have to switch it more than once to get it to stay on ,but other than that great tool.

Interested in the 6117-833D but a few questions first.
                1. Can the guard be removed?
                2. If answer to #1 is yes, then can I use a 3" wire cup on this grinder?
                3. What other cutting or grinding mediums can I utilise with this tool?
                TIA!

                  A:

Yes, the guard can be removed. Technically, you can use a 3-in wire cup on the unit as long as the wire cup has a spindle thread of 5/8-11. This grinder will fit any grinding or cutting wheels up to 5-in as long as the spindle thread is 5/8-11.
