Got this to replace a Generac 5KW. I was happy to find out that only the wheels had to be installed. Also very pleased to see they included an extra oil&air filter plus a spark plug and 2qts of oil. Hooked it to my house and powered everything of importance with ease!Didn't give it 5 Stars because it hasn't been used in an emergency yet.

Comments about XG7000E XG Series 7,000 Watt Electric-Manual Start Portable Generator:

This is not a cheap knock-off toy. This is a well-made strong unit that any electrician would be
proud to install. spare filter and plug included is a plus. Having all the controls on the front panel puts the homeowner at ease...It's just like the
dashboard of a car. Noise level varies from unit to unit...consider pressed insulation for the enclosure walls. Excellent turn-around on delivery.

          • Q:

I was comparing this generator to the GP7000E/5626 and one of the things that stands out is the 63lb weight difference. Can you tell me where the weight difference comes from? What does that mean for performance? Thanks!

              A:

The XG series generator is a more heavy duty model. It has a heavier steel frame and a larger/ stronger alternator. It has a better muffler, and an OHVI engine. These combine to make this unit heavier than the GP series which is designed for occasional light duty use.
