Q:What size type battery does it need. Is this series motor twin cylinders and how much HP?
A:The included battery is a 12VDC 10 Ahr.
Q:Can this 8000 power most things in a 2400 ft. house with avg. outlet & heat or aircon. ?
A:This compressor is designed to be used on jobsites. You would not be able to run more than one item in a house at a time.
A:I have this generator. It can not power your A/C but it can power my entire 2300sf house in MI. I have it hooked up to my main panel with an interlock switch. As long as you are not turning on every appliance on in your house at once you should be ok.
Q:IS THE XG SERIES BEST FOR HOME APPLIANCES AND ELECTRONICS? WHAT ABOUT THE GP SERIES? WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES?
A:Yes, the XG is the best portable option for use with electronics. The total harmonic distortion on the GP series is too high for use with sensitvie equipment like LCD TV's and laptops, but great for refrigerators, stoves, well pumps, power tools etc... Of course, the best option for home protection is a Standby, which will keep you electricity working even when you are not there to prevent food from going bad, pumps working to keep basements from flooding etc...
Q:How do you keep the battery charged in this unit?
A:The battery will charge while the Generator is running. You should do monthly tests to keep it operating in peak condition and to keep the battery charged, however, if you choose not to, you can charge the battery with any standard clip on style 12V automotive charger, or If it is discharged when you need to use it, this generator also has a pull string manual start, so you can still get it running,
